David Maier

The Rev. Dr. David Maier is the Executive Director of Mission Partners Platform (MPP), which includes Concordia Market, a platform for discovering missional resources, encouragement, and opportunities for collaboration, and God Works, offering original content in various forms and collaborative possibilities as well. Dr. Maier received his B.A. from Concordia University Ann Arbor with a double major in Biblical Languages and Christian Doctrine and received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Dr. Maier is the President Emeritus of the Michigan District having served there from 2009-2022, and as Chairman of the Council of Presidents from 2018-2022. Maier was awarded an honorary doctorate by St. Peter Confessional Lutheran Church of South Africa in 2007; Concordia University, Ann Arbor awarded him the Doctorate of Laws Degree, in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding leadership and diligent labor in the Lord’s Kingdom, in 2012; with Concordia University Wisconsin conferring the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters to Maier in December of 2012. He also received the Outstanding Alumnus Award in May 2010, from Concordia University Ann Arbor.

Maier has been married to His college sweetheart Patrica (Kemmerling) since July, 1980, their marriage being blessed with 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
