Pat Maier
Mrs. Patricia Maier is a follower of Jesus, most happy to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is married to Rev. Dr. David Maier, Executive Director of Mission Partners Platform. Her primary focus and joy are spending time with family, which includes four children, their spouses, and eight grandchildren. A former educator, Pat graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor (’77) and Concordia University Chicago (’79).
She has been blessed to participate in the many ministries of their Lutheran churches and schools over the years, as well as planning and presenting at retreats and conferences. Serving in a leadership role, she helped plan the Michigan District’s retreats for pastor’s wives for 13 years and is currently the coordinator for women’s retreats at Camp Arcadia.
Pat received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Concordia University Ann Arbor in 2020 and served as spring commencement speaker in 2022. She is a Co-Founder and artist for Visual Faith® Ministry and a collaborator for the Visual Church Year, a collection of free worship resources that follow the LCMS Lectionary readings. A published artist, Pat completed a series of margin art for The Enduring Word Bible by Concordia Publishing House, as well as inspirational illustrations for several hymn journals by Next Step Press.
She believes in the importance of applying educational research to faith learning by sharing practices and creating resources to equip and encourage all ages during focused time in prayer and God’s Word. She believes that the creative use of language and art – when connected with God’s Word – can touch the heart, promote understanding, and spark joy.
