William Schumacher
The Rev. Dr. Will Schumacher is professor emeritus of historical theology at Concordia Seminary, St Louis, where he also earned his MDiv, STM, and PhD degrees. He joined the faculty after serving as a missionary in Botswana for ten years and has continued his involvement in international theological education through research and guest teaching on five continents. Will’s theological and academic interests cluster around the intersection of theology and culture, throughout history and around the world. As a grateful recipient and object of God’s Mission, he knows the joy of also being called to participate in that Mission.
Will and his wife, Tamara, are both graduates of Wartburg College. They have three adult children and four grandchildren (so far), scattered from California to Scotland to Switzerland. Will enjoys traveling with Tamara, and he indulges in numerous hobbies from sausage making to gardening to homebrewing.
